Idaho Falls Lacrosse Code of Conduct

Players, coaches, officials, parents and spectators are to conduct themselves in a manner that “honors the game” of lacrosse and demonstrates respect to other players, coaches, officials, parents and spectators.  In becoming a member of the lacrosse community, an individual assumes certain obligations and responsibilities to the game of lacrosse and its participants.

The essential elements in this “Code of Conduct” are sportsmanship and a commitment to safety.  They must be followed during practices and games, and include conduct off the field.

Sportsmanship and safety/ fair play are essential to the game and must be taught at all levels, and developed both at home and on the field.

These behaviors violate our code of conduct:
· Arguing with coaches, officials, teammates, opponents or spectators
· Using threatening or profane language

· Baiting or taunting
· Unsafe play or behavior on the field, sidelines, or spectator areas
· Uncontrolled behavior in the bench area

All people involved or watching a game are expected to demonstrate positive behavior and respect toward others

Spectators will not badger, harass or threaten an official, coach, player or opponent.

Referee decisions are to be respected at all times.   Coaches educate their players to treat lacrosse officials with respect.

Grievances or misunderstandings between coaches, officials or any other parties involved with the sport should be communicated through the proper channels and procedures, never on or about the field of play or otherwise in view of spectators or participants.

Cyber bullying on any social media platform will not be tolerated between teammates or between any opponent teams.

Failure to abide by this Code of Conduct will jeopardize your ability to watch, coach, officiate, or participate in  Idaho Falls Lacrosse events.

Poor sportsmanship will carry, at a minimum, the following consequences:*

 - First Offense:           Verbal warning

- Second Offense:        Dismissal from the game

- Third Offense:           Dismissal from the next game

- Fourth Offense:         Dismissal from the team

*Idaho Falls Lacrosse reserves the right to examine any incident on a case-by-case basis and enforce consequences as deemed appropriate by the Board.

There is no refund or recourse for dismissal from our program as a consequence of breaking this Code of Conduct.
